Outreach to the
Community

Financial support for relief efforts can be made online through the Presbyterian Church U.S.A. secure donation site.  If you prefer, you can make your donation by phone at (800) 872-3283 or by mailing a check to:
 Presbyterian Disaster Assistance
P.O. Box 643700

(Hope Church is a member of the Tampa Bay Presbytery.)

Our Deacons are a very busy group of people.  The most visible thing you see them do is greet worshippers and collect the offering on Sunday mornings.
But they do so much more than that!

The first Sunday of each month at Hope Church is "Family Emergency Services" Sunday.  Our Deacons encourage all to participate by bringing gifts of non-perishable food donations.  (Place your items in the shopping cart outside the Sanctuary.)

You can also contribute money to the Deacons' Fund.  With your gifts, we  are able to help support many worthwhile organizations, such as:

Above and beyond your monetary donations, there are many ways you can be of service to these organizations by offering your time, energy, and talents.  For example:

Anchor House needs male volunteers to work as mentors to the young men in their program.  Please call Don Cox (863) 665-1916 if you can help.

Meals on Wheels always needs drivers to deliver meals.  They also need help in the kitchen, thrift shop, and other areas.  Please call their office (863) 299-1616 if you can help.

All the other other agencies and organizations we support also rely greatly on volunteer help.  Please consider assisting in some capacity; you will truly be blessed!

The bloodmobile makes regular visits to Hope Church to make it easy for you to donate blood.  When you do, the Hope Church account is credited with your units of blood.

When you or a family member needs blood, you can tap into Hope's account (even if the recipient has never given blood!). To arrange for this, please contact Peggy Ann White (863) 324-6747 or Marsha Long (863) 324-6307.  If neither are available, contact the Church office.

Hope Church also sponsors numerous community organizations and events by opening our doors to them:

  • We host Girl Scout, Cub Scout, and Boy Scout Troops, and their leaders' meetings.
  • The Winter Haven Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) support group meets weekly.
  • The Winter Haven Narcotics Anonymous (NA) support group meets weekly.
  • Autism & Asperger families meet the last Tuesday of each month.
  • An aerobics class is held twice a week.
  • Vocal students of Mrs. Rebecca Price have lessons each week.
  • The AARP provides tax preparation assistance during February and March
  • We are an official voting location for part of Winter Haven.

Please see This Month at Hope for dates and times of these meetings.
