"The
Twelve Days of
Christmas" Tea
Saturday,
December 3
12:00 - 2:00 p.m.
Our theme this year is ‘The Twelve Days of Christmas’! We are sure you will enjoy the entire program!
The tea this year is hosted by Tara Messieh and her sister Kathy
Marshall in memory of their mother. You are sure to recall the dazzling display of decorations in Friendship Hall last
Christmas. Those were provided by Tara. You will be delighted to know she is once again putting her amazing talent to work.
The ‘Twelve Days of Christmas’ is a popular secular Christmas song believed to have come to us from France.
It’s a clever love song. There are also legends about its being a device for Christians to remember basic tenets of
our faith. What we know is true about the actual 12 days of Christmas is they are the time of celebration on the
Christian calendar between the birth of Jesus and Epiphany. Epiphany celebrates the arrival of the magi or wise men.
Jesus was a toddler when the wise men arrived to worship Him.
Traditional nativity manger scenes often depict the infant
Christ along with His parents, the shepherds, an angel, and the wise men, capturing the entire 12 days of Christmas
in a single tableau.
You are invited to display your own personal nativity scenes for this special event!
If you have a nativity scene you would allow us to display, along with the many others, during the Tea,
please contact Donna Phillips. We will be arranging several long tables to display these special nativity scenes.
This year we are using lovely china tea cups and saucers provided by Tara Messieh rather than borrowing
Christmas china from our ladies.
There will once again be a special activity reserved just for the children during our program.
Paid reservations for the Tea begin Sunday, November 6, and will be available until we reach our capacity of 200.
Ladies’ reservations are $10 each, girls 18 and under may attend free, but everyone needs a reservation.
See the ladies in the covered walk-way between worship services and after the 10:30am service for your reservation
or visit the Church office.
